Ilford’s PQ borax formula for films and plates. Gives grain fine enough for all normal requirements without loss of emulsion speed.
Ingredient | Quantity | |
---|---|---|
Sodium sulphite anhydrous | 85 | grams |
Hydroquinone | 5 | grams |
Borax | 7 | grams |
Boric acid | 2 | grams |
Phenidone | 0.13 | grams |
Potassium bromide | 1 | gram |
Water to make | 1 | liter |
Mix ingredients in order. |
Do not dilute. Develop for 8 minutes. When needed use Ilford ID68R as replenisher.
This formula is very similar to the commercial developer sold as Microphen.
And it is also similar to D76 but with the use of phenidon instead of metol.
No fog and good sensitivity.
Thank you for your input, i really appreciate it.
